British Blind Sport
Many blind children are turned away from mainstream clubs. This is because most clubs see us as a problem that they don’t want. They use many excuses to not involve us in their clubs. How did we get around this … by setting up our own.
However, there are problems that have to be overcome:
Blind sports clubs don’t get many sponsors event though blind people have run in the Paralympics.
The Paralympics aren’t on television as much as the Olympics, those competing don’t get much publicity when really people in the Paralympics are making just as big achievement as sighted runners.
There are not many blind clubs but British Blind Sport is one of them. They are involved in many sports such as football, swimming and athletics.
